Studio Policies
We want you to have the best possible experience at our studio, which also means we need some accountability on all sides. We love to play and joke around, but we also take love, kindness and respect very seriously as you become part of our community and we uphold our side to make it a safe and supportive place to move.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at info@uncommonpracticepilates.com.

Please arrive on time! We ask that students arrive no more than 5 minutes early for their class, to keep the space comfortable for other clients. Students who are 10 minutes or more late to class will not be permitted to join, and will be charged as a "late cancel."
-
Stepping into a Pilates studio can feel like entering a new realm. To ensure you're as comfy as can be while you're stretching, twisting, and strengthening, here's what to consider:
Comfort is Key: Opt for clothing that lets you move freely in all directions. Think stretchy leggings or shorts and a fitted top that won’t ride up every time you stretch and keep everything in place as much as they can ;) You want to focus on your form, not fidgeting with your outfit!
Avoid clothing with zippers or metal decorations that can get in the way or even potentially scratch the equipment.
-
We do understand that unexpected things come up with childcare, but we do our best to create a place for you to move without distraction. If you need to bring a babe or kiddo that can be self sufficient or napping, we are open to working with you on scheduling a time with us when the studio is fully open without others.
-
We totally understand that things come up, and you may not be able to attend a class that you've signed up for. However, we do have a 24 hour cancellation policy for our private sessions. If you have to cancel less than 24 hours before your session, do. not show up, or are not able to reschedule the session for the same calendar week, one session will be deducted from your package.

We love your families, but your movement practice is a time to focus on YOU. Please refrain from bringing in your kids or pets during your class or session! Service animals are, of course, welcome anytime!
*See our info in private session policies for more options with kiddos. -
We totally understand that things come up, and you may not be able to attend a class that you've signed up for. However, we do have a 12 hour cancellation policy. If you have to cancel less than 12 hours before your class, you will refunded your class pass and only charged a $10 late cancel fee. If you do not show up for class, you will be charged a $15 no show fee. We have small class sizes, need to pay our instructors and respect our fellow clients.
-
Our class levels are in the descriptions of each class you attend and you can see the details of what is recommended for you to take. We want you to get the most out of your time with us here, but safety is paramount when we are working with you. If we advise you to be in a different level class, it is not because we don’t think its possible, we want to support you where you are in your practice.
-
We have a waitlist with 4 spots as we know our classes can fill up due to their small size. If you sign up for the waitlist, you can be ADDED TO CLASS UP TO 60 MINUTES BEFORE START TIME. Those of you that are not early risers or need to adjust plans, go into your Walla account and you can adjust your reservations with no penalty.
At Uncommon Practice Pilates, we believe movement is personal—and so is safety. Our studio is a space for people to feel grounded in their bodies, supported in their practice, and respected as whole humans.
We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone can move with autonomy, dignity, and ease.
What You Can Expect Here
When you walk into Uncommon Practice, you can expect:
A space rooted in respect and consent
Clear physical and emotional boundaries
Inclusive language and thoughtful instruction
A community that values care over comparison
We do not tolerate behavior that makes others feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or disrespected.
Boundaries That Matter
Harassment of any kind—verbal, physical, visual, or digital—is not welcome in our space. This includes behavior related to identity, appearance, gender, sexuality, or personal boundaries.
Examples include (but are not limited to):
Unwanted physical contact or invading personal space
Comments about someone’s body, appearance, or identity
Sexual jokes, innuendo, or suggestive remarks
Staring, leering, or inappropriate attention
Pressure for personal interaction beyond what feels welcome
Intent matters less than impact. If something causes harm or discomfort, we will address it.
Consent Is Core to Our Practice
Hands-on instruction, verbal cues, and interpersonal interactions at Uncommon Practice are always grounded in consent.
Consent:
Is never assumed
Can be changed or withdrawn at any time
Is respected without explanation
You always have the right to advocate for your body and your boundaries.
If Something Doesn’t Feel Right
Your safety matters to us.
If you experience or witness behavior that doesn’t align with our values, we encourage you to reach out so we can support you and take appropriate action.
